Origin: Takayama, Nara, Japan
The traditional Japanese matcha spoon (chashaku) is handmade from a single piece of black bamboo.
Suitable for everyday use and particularly robust. Each spoon is handmade and unique.
It is made in Nara, Japan, 100% natural and chemical-free, and is sourced locally and high-quality bamboo pieces are carefully selected.
Black bamboo is softer and more flexible than white, but its density makes carving difficult and takes longer to produce than products made from white bamboo. Black bamboo has a diameter of 2 to 3 cm and reaches a height of 3 to 5 meters. Only bamboo that has been aged for at least 2 years is used for production.
