Discover the extraordinary rarity of the snow chrysanthemum, a flower tea that grows only in the extreme conditions of the Kunlun mountain range. Low temperatures and high altitude slow down the growth of the flower, allowing it to develop an extremely rich and complex taste. The result is a deep, dark red infusion with distinctive notes of caramel and dark honey. Thanks to its uniqueness and refined taste, this tea is one of our most prized and special.
This exquisite flower, also known as ‘Snow Daisy’, grows wild in the alpine region of the Kunlun Mountains in Xinjiang province. It is the only wild chrysanthemum in the world that thrives at such high altitudes, often on inaccessible cliffs. It blooms only once a year, in August, and its very short flowering period and low yield make it extremely rare. The demanding manual harvesting, which involves climbing steep mountains, further contributes to its exclusivity and makes it highly valued. Although it has been consumed by locals in Xinjiang for centuries, its remarkable quality has recently been discovered among wider circles of tea lovers.
In the traditional culture of this area, snow chrysanthemum is valued as a drink for relaxation and general well-being. It has been passed down for generations as a precious herbal tea among the Uyghurs, which is a testament to its long history and importance. Its rich texture and flavor are the result of its natural composition; The flower is famous for its high concentration of various amino acids, which contributes to its complexity and depth of taste.
To bring the experience to perfection, use low-hardness water that has just boiled (100°C). We recommend using a transparent glass or teapot so that you can observe the magic of the flowers opening. The tea is ready when the infusion acquires a slightly reddish tint. Unlike many flower teas, Xue Ju retains its rich, sweet flavor through multiple steepers. To preserve its unique aroma and taste, store the tea in a cool, dry and dark place, away from strong odors.
