In today’s hectic lifestyle, it seems that we are constantly looking for simple ways to address the negative side effects of such a lifestyle. GABA tea offers a solution!

GABA tea underwent a special fermentation process without oxygen and as a result accumulated gamma-aminobutyric acid in the tea leaves. This technology was created in Japan. Dr. Tsushida discovered a new method of fermenting tea and found that a large amount of GABA accumulated in green tea over six to ten hours in an anaerobic (oxygen-free) state of fermentation. GABA stands for gamma-aminobutyric acid and is an amino acid that acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and is one of the most abundant neurotransmitters in the brain. GABA is a non-essential amino acid and a natural tranquilizer. It improves the quality of sleep and helps us regulate emotions and cope with stress more easily.

It helps relieve anxiety, PMS symptoms, helps with ADHD, and has been shown to stabilize blood pressure in humans and animals.

The process involves placing unfinished tea in a sealed drum that is then filled with nitrogen to displace oxygenated air. In this anaerobic environment, the glutamate in the leaves is converted to GABA before the leaves are extracted and proceeded further with the traditional processing process.

In Japan, where GABA is a trend in many products except tea, regulations are very strict, and teas labeled as GABA must contain at least 150 mg in every 100 g of tea. Our GABA Gyokuro is made from Gyokuro tea leaves and as a result contains 300~600mg in 100g of tea. Another outstanding feature of our GABA Gyokura is a richer dark green and fresh taste and sweetness compared to normal GABA tea.

The manufacturer of this extraordinary tea tries new raw materials for GABA teas every year using a variety of varieties that are suitable for GABA. As for theanine, this GABA Gyokuro contains 3000 mg ~ 4000 mg in every 100 g of tea.

Asahi (朝日) is one of the most demanding varieties of tea; It produces thick, juicy leaves rich in umami. It is highly valued in the Kanzai region for the production of shaded teas. Unfortunately, for some still unclear reason, the variety has not been registered with the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Asahi is one variety that has a pleasant umami flavor with minimal bitterness.
