While it is increasingly difficult to find organic Lishan teas as well as many other high mountain teas, it is even more difficult to find highly principled growers like Mr. Wen who strive to produce natural teas in the way nature intended and provide us with the best possible high-altitude tea experience.
This spring’s 2023 harvest carries the tradition of what this garden has offered almost every season for the past 10 years. With the great efforts of numerous producers due to the much drier winter and early spring weather, we are glad that this garden was spared and blessed by the rain made possible by the microclimate of Cui Fong on the west side of the Hehuanshan range. This tea comes from a small garden of slow-growing leaves of the Qing Xin variety and brings all the subtle shades of freshness of mountain meadows, fragrant notes of exotic flowers and a thick creamy smoothness that enchants the palate.
By subtle, we don’t mean weak, but we mean subtle as intricate and complex, but in a more subdued way.
We believe that when you give this tea the attention and space it deserves, it will reveal its true beauty.
This tea also matures excellently and will improve if kept closed for at least one full season.
