For lovers of pu-erh tea, Bai Ying Shan is definitely one not to be missed.

Bai Ying Shan is one of the mountainous areas of the Wu Liang Shanu region southwestern Yunnan and near the Lan Cang River. Although it is still not very well known among many mountain teas Yunnan, studies show that Bai Ying Shan is descended from the old large tea trees of Yunnan. The oldest tea tree is also located here, more than 3000 years old, and the biological character of the seeds of the old Bai Ying Shan tree proves that this is the birthplace of the Yunnan Big Leaf Tea variety.

The tea tree grows in the village of Bai Ying Shan where the trees are not close to each other. Many of them are very large and a thousand years old.

The village of Bai Ying Shan is located on the top of the mountain and faces northeast. Due to this location, the land is exposed to sunlight all day long, while at night the temperature drops markedly. Moisture from the Lan Cang River rises to the mountain and forms clouds and fog. This combination of weather conditions is ideal for high quality tea.
